Some of you may not know this, but I am quite the crafty little devil. I am a huge DIY (do it yourself) junkie, and I love upcycling things I find at thrift shops or garage sales. I always had tons of creative ideas floating around in my head, but it has only been in the last few years that I’ve acted on them.
Some of my projects include:
I tried to make a lot of my Christmas gifts this year. I’ve got a clutch, a vase, picture collages and a few others things in the works. I prefer giving personalized gifts because I think it really conveys how much I want my presents to be better than everyone else’s.
Last week I put up a post that was 99% about kicking caffeine, and 1% about my desire to send Christmas cards to my Hooked on Tonics. Sending cards during the holidays is nice, but it’s so mainstream. I’m really trying to reach the Hipster demographic, and I just can’t fit this blog into skinny jeans, or make it drink Pabst Blue Ribbon.
I needed to think outside of the box.
I’ve decided that not only will I be sending SoJaT Christmas cards, but I will also be hosting a 12 Days of Christmas giveaway on this blog. Here are the rules:
- Each day I will present you with a challenge
- Complete the challenge
- Let me know you completed it in the comments section
- Send me tasteful nude photos of yourself (optional step)
Each comment will be assigned a number, and I’ll use random number generator to select a winner at 11:59PM PST the day of the post.
What are the prizes? Because I’m not some prize dictator, I’m going to give you three options to choose from should you win:
Prize Choice #1
Custom magnet. You supply the photo, and I’ll make a magnet out of it. Now you can display that awkward prom photo from 1986 on your fridge!
Prize Choice #2
Custom Phonics by Tonic™ card. I’ll work with you to create a card for someone else, or I’ll whip one up just for you.
Prize Choice #3
GRAB BAG! I’ll surprise you with a random item from Goodwill, a garage sale, or something I steal from the next car I break into.
Okay, so what is today’s challenge?
Nominate someone for Freshly Pressed status
I just recently learned that you can tweet @Freshly_Pressed with a recommendation for a deserving WordPress post. Sharing is caring, and what better way to celebrate your favorite blogger than to help him/her get FP’d?
Let me know which post you nominated in the comments section, and throw in your own twitter handle so I can follow you!
Good luck to all who enter!

Wait. Let me get this straight. We send you tasteful naked pictures. Then you turn those pictures into cards and send them back to us? And you don’t even promise not to make fun of the size of my ass?
Yeah, I’m crying foul on this. This is like a greeting cards pyramid scheme.
P.S. I haven’t figured out who I want to nominate. My favorite WordPress blogger is too wordy, so they probably won’t Fresh Press him until he gets his word count under control… I do love La La though, and she has zillions of great posts…
Don’t tell the others about my Ponzi scheme. I’m sittin’ on a lot of really awesome nudes right now, and I need to get my fix.
La La IS really good! I think others recommended her yesterday if I’m not mistaken.
Oh, and who is the blogger you talked about? I’d love to know.

He’s SO FUNNY, but you know how WordPress is. They want pithy, and they want lots of pictures. He puts a picture in about every tenth post.
Jen,
This post should be Freshly Pressed.

Le Clown
I can’t believe he hasn’t been FP’d yet.
Jen,
So I am back. And I will send a post tomorrow, Becca’s post, as it is an important post she has written, and I am proud of her. Rich has written one today too, but I’m afraid that if I submit it (as it is on ACOF), it might take some of Becca’s chances tomorrow… But it is well written, the way Rich only can…
Le Clown
That post by Rich is crazy good! Loved it.
This post from Mom in the Muddle, about her grandparents. I’m not going to spoil it, so just read it 🙂

OOF, Kylie, I just saw that my response on this didn’t go through! I just wanted to let you know that I really liked this post!
Oh good 🙂
Dang it, all you blogging people into twitter… I had one once, 4 years ago… I don’t even remember my username anymore… (haha)
P.s. good work on the Taj, looks pretty good. Pretty domey – but I guess that works for some people 😉
Um, you need to be there. It’s just not a party without you.
True story. 🙂
