I’m baaaaaaaaack!
As some of you may have noticed, I’ve been absent from the wonderful world of blogging for a couple of weeks now. I got sick with one of those illnesses that makes you feel like you’ve been hit by a bus, and then persists so long you wish you’d get by a bus. I haven’t been that sick in years, and was convinced I was infected with some crazy disease doctors would eventually call “Tonicosis” after I died from it. I’m happy to report that I’m still very much alive!
It’s Monday which means it’s time for my second installment of (cue dramatic music) MUSIC MONDAY! I know I haven’t written anything for this blog since my last Music Monday, but I did write a piece over at Expats Post since that time. That counts, right?
Here are my Top 10 songs for the last two weeks. I was obviously having a reggae/reggaeton moment:
Don Omar- Danza Kuduro
Enur- Calabria 2007
Aersomith- Dream On
Pitbull- Bon, Bon
Rupee- Tempted to Touch
Ini Kamoze- Here Comes the Hotstepper
September- Cry For You
Daddy Yankee- Gasolina
Kevin Lyttle- Turn Me On
Carlos Arroyo- Se Va Conmigo
So tell me, what have you been listening to?
What’s happened to your posts fabulous lady? I’m in desperate need of some Tonirific wisdom.
I’m coming back tomorrow. Sorry I’ve been gone! I’ve missed all of you as well 😀
Ooh! I’m a big Aerosmith fan, so I’m all over ‘Dream On.’ Great choices, once again!
Ah! I’m glad you liked the selections 🙂
Just one…? Don’t be afraid to tell me what it is. That way, I can just hit repeat…
For you? I recommend Aersomith’s Dream On. I don’t see you as a Reggaeton kinda guy 😉
Glad to see you back, Jen, cute new photo 🙂
Thanks darlin’ 🙂
Yay! More tonic-y posts! I am sad to hear you’ve been illy. Also I giggled that you listen to “Gasolina” as that song makes me laugh hysterically… “Everybody Gasolina!”
This week all I have been listening to is Paul Simon… I think this is why I have been bummed out though (and I blame Garfunkel for me catching a cold)… so I would suggest continue to listen to Pitbull. “You know you want to, want to”…
Hey! You know the song. The lyrics ARE totally ridiculous.
Simon and Garfunkel? Has it really been one of those weeks? Sing it with me, “BON BON BON BON!”
Dream on! An all time favorite of mine (I’m a rocker at heart). Thanks for the ear worm!
I always knew you were a rock goddess!
Yay! Happy to see you!
Happy to see YOU too 😀
Glad you are feeling better and back with us 🙂 Cool songs.
I’m glad too! It felt like I had been away for foreeeeeeeeeever.
in blog time it was!! 🙂
YAY! Welcome back! 🙂
Okay, like Cher I have been very busy, so I haven’t changed my current music list haha. “Danza Kuduro” is one I heard sooo often as well lately. Have you ever heard of Zouk and then the band Kassav? A popular song by Kassav is “Zouk la Se Sel Medikaman Nou Ni” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2JSP20_X8o
I practically grew up listening to them and it’s always played at parties and people dance around…well usually they dance around haha.
Ah! That song sounds like something that people would just sort of dance around the room too. I imagine everyone just shuffling their feet, and moving their hips back and forth. Perhaps doing the ZOING?
Hahaha! Yes!! Shuffle and hips shaking, maybe a bit of lambada type of dance thrown into the mix as well. I believe it’s from Guadeloupe? Not so sure now, would have to look it up. Goodness, now I have to think of the ZOING!!
It is so good to have you back! More than that, I am thrilled that you didn’t have Tonicosis. 🙂 I have been so busy this week that there was little time for music, other than a link my son sent me. I will spend some time (like Bill) looking up your picks for the week. Take care, Jen (who needs more tonic).
I’m also happy I didn’t have Tonicosis. It sounds deadly, no?
You’re always such a busy lady. It’s hard for me to keep up! 😉
Oohh, i am so happy you didn’t die from tonicosis!! That would have been terrible!! No one wants tonicosis! Anyhow, music… yes! I have been listening to a lot of Latin music these days. It’s where my roots are you know… so i have listened to Mark Anthony’s ‘si te vas’ and ‘no me ames’, which I love. And of course I have been listening to Romeo Santos and Usher’s ‘Promise’. And then last but not least there’s Aventura with ‘dile al amor’. Like I said, Latin mood! 😉 My roots are calling me! 🙂
YES! I love those songs. You have excellent taste my dear 🙂
It’s going to take me longer to listen to Tonic Radio than it took you to write Tonic Radio. Cue music in 3… 2… 1…
Probably 😉
I hope there’s at least one song you like so it was worth the time spent.
